Our Community
Connection and Belonging
Together we create a joyful, caring community where every child and family belongs.
Partnering with our Families
We are very fortunate to be part of a community that deeply values children, families, and education — across our Westchester towns and within our broader network of Friends schools.
At Chappaqua Friends Nursery School (CFNS), we believe in strong partnerships between families and educators.
How We Partner with Families
Our school community thrives through close relationships between teachers and families. We warmly welcome parents, caregivers, and extended family members into our school community. We build lasting relationships through:
Open and ongoing communication
Collaborative learning experiences
Family-focused school events
Volunteer opportunities in the classroom and beyond
We invite families to be active participants in school life and support them in feeling connected and empowered in their child’s early learning journey.
Celebrating Our Community
Throughout the year, we celebrate the uniqueness of each child and family. Our annual community events include:
Fall Festival
Winter Singalong
Spring Family Picnic
Apple Orchard Field-Trip
Spring Fling Fundraiser
These traditions reflect our commitment to creating a joyful, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child and family belongs.
Our Teachers
Our teachers are nurturing, creative, and thoughtful early childhood educators who believe that children are naturally curious and capable of taking an active role in their learning. They are committed to creating environments where children can freely learn, play, be themselves, and grow as important members of a community.
In addition to having strong foundations in early childhood education, our teachers are artists, musicians, storytellers, naturalists, experienced parents and cooks. They bring their many diverse talents into the school to foster rich and exciting classrooms.
